GLH was started by 3 men in the early 1970s, these men came together to build a company that would service the furniture and case good industries with quality plywood and wood components.
Louie Huffman ran the company and had a long time friend Eddy Sipe who was also in the wood business.
They began to talk about a transition plan...

The company grew and was eventually sold to a longtime business friend, Eddy Sipe. Eddy expanded and diversified GLH and grew into a trusted partner of his customers through his knowledge and experience, but more importantly because of his honesty and integrity.

With more than 30 years in the forest products industry, Matt Weatherman’s experience runs deep. He got his start working summer jobs in the lumber business during high school and college—hands-on experience that sparked a lifelong passion.

Matt’s enthusiasm for wood, from species and grading to specialized applications, is contagious. Combined with his strong integrity and ethical approach to business, it’s no surprise he has built lasting relationships across the industry.
In 2019, he led the transformation of GLH into Carolina Forestry Products (CFP), shaping the company into what it is today.
